A pop-up music space

We bring the music
into the community.

The People's Studio shows up wherever people gather, a park, a hall a verandah or anywhere with some instruments, some resources, and open ears. No stage, no audition, no pressure. Just a chance to explore your own relationship with music, and find out how that can enhance your life experience and be uplifting to those around you.

How it works

We set up a small space and the people will help shape the session.

01 — Show up

Wherever people already are, a park, a hall, a market, with no fixed plan, just the intention to help someone find their own way into music.

02 — Explore

Play it, write it, sing it, or just talk about it, there's no one right way in. Whatever your relationship with music looks like today, there's space for it.

03 — Learn from others

Regular sessions where a volunteer drops by to pass on a skill, share some advice, or give a talk, whatever they've got to offer.

04 — Pass it on

Music doesn't have to stay in the moment it's made, it can help, heal, or connect long after the day's over. — it ripples into how people show up for each other after.

What we run

A few different ways in.

Community pop-ups

Unannounced or lightly promoted sessions in public spaces, parks, plazas, community spaces.

Open jam session feel

Recurring, invited sessions for people who want to keep coming back and keep building together.

Youth sessions

Sessions built for younger folks to get hands-on with instruments for the first time.
