The People's Studio started with a simple idea: that everyone has a relationship with music worth exploring, whether or not they've ever called themselves a musician. So to break down the barriers, we bring a small, welcoming space to anywhere it can work, including places where our community already gathers.
A pop-up removes the usual barriers — cost, confidence, an unfamiliar building. We set up in public, visible, everyday spaces so that showing up takes nothing more than walking over.
Playing music alongside a stranger tends to change how people treat each other for the rest of the day. We hope to see pop-ups turn into standing invitations, new friendships, and small acts of people looking out for one another.
You don't need experience, talent, or a plan. Curiosity is enough.
We follow the community's lead on where, when, and what a session needs to be.
